INVESTING IN WOMEN AND GIRLS: NYC CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

On Thursday, March 6, a coalition of organizations—...the UN Division for the Advancement of Women, UNIFEM and the Women’s Media Center—will celebrate International Women’s Day at one of the only public events in New York City outside the United Nations system.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) -- Charles Taylor's defense attorney argued Friday that a key prosecution witness at the former Liberian president's war crimes trial was mentally unstable. Testimony from Varmuyan Sherif earlier this week linked the Liberian ex-president closely to rebels accused of atrocities in Sierra Leone's 10-year civil war.
